Volunteer with wildlife in Essex

Come and volunteer

Wildlives depends on volunteer help. The work is cleaning, feeding and caring for a wide range of animals, following a strong daily routine that keeps disruption to the patients to a minimum. In summer the orphans pour in: baby birds need feeding every forty-five minutes, and cleaning out nearly as often.

Who we're looking for

  • People who love animals and are interested in wildlife
  • Hard-working, dependable and willing to learn
  • Happy working outdoors, in a team and on your own initiative
  • Quick, but with close attention to detail: hygiene standards are high

No experience is needed; all training is on the job. Volunteers give anything from a couple of hours a week to a couple of days, whatever their age. We also take students on formal work-experience placements, useful for veterinary, veterinary nursing and animal care courses.

Ring 01206 251174 to arrange a visit

Placements are often at short notice: we can't tell how busy we'll be from one day to the next.
